Job Brief
- Building and Growing a High-Performing Technology Organization: As the VP of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for developing and expanding a top-notch technology team across multiple locations.
- Proactively Managing and Mitigating Product and Delivery Risks: Ensuring that product development stays on track and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
- Recruitment and Retention: You will oversee recruitment efforts and implement strategies to attract and retain top talent in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Continually fine-tuning the software development process to ensure a sustainable and efficient flow of value to customers.
- Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Fostering a work environment where all team members, regardless of their background, can thrive.
- Remaining Technology-Focused: While primarily a leadership role, you should maintain a technology-focused mindset and an understanding of software development.
- Technology Stack and Multi-Cloud Strategy: AWS and Kubernetes (K8S) with ArgoCD, but they are pursuing a multi-cloud strategy. Familiarity with these technologies and cloud-native architectures is important.
Requirements
- Extensive Engineering Leadership Experience: You should have a track record of at least 10 years in engineering leadership, ideally within the Financial Services or a related technology field, and experience managing large teams of 100+ people.
- Servant Leadership: You should be comfortable with the Servant Leadership model, which emphasizes serving and supporting your team members to help them succeed.
- Product-Driven Environment: Ability to align software engineering efforts with the product-driven strategy through cross-functional engineering teams.
- Effective Communication: Strong communication skills, both in terms of timeliness and proactiveness, are essential, as you’ll need to engage with various stakeholders.
- Experience with AWS and Distributed Systems: Proficiency in modern, large-scale distributed systems using AWS cloud-native architectures is required.
- Technology Skills: While primarily a leadership role, you should have a technical background and remember what it’s like to write software.
