Head of Engineering
Job Brief
As the Head of Engineering for a Series A start-up disrupting the loan origination space, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of the company and driving the development of innovative and scalable products. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of strategic, technical, and leadership aspects:
- Product & Technology Strategy: Define and drive the technical vision for the company, aligning it with the overall business goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in the loan origination space through technology.
- Hands-On Coding: Allocate approximately 30% of your time to hands-on coding, working closely with the development team to contribute to the codebase and guide best practices. This not only sets a strong example but also ensures your continued technical proficiency.
- Agile Team Building: Build and lead a high-performing agile engineering team. Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, ensuring their professional growth, collaboration, and successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Product Development Expertise: Proven experience in successfully building and launching high-quality products from ideation to iteration. You understand the product development lifecycle and can guide the team through each phase.
- FinTech Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the FinTech industry, particularly in the context of loan origination, is essential. Understanding the regulatory landscape, industry trends, and customer needs will contribute to your ability to drive meaningful innovation.
